The dream you keep putting off
You've long looked at jewelry differently from other people. You notice how a stone sits and how the metal curves. Shops rarely have anything you truly love, and your head has long been full of your own sketches.
Maybe you've dreamed of this since childhood. Maybe you only realized it now. Or maybe you already make jewelry from beads, resin or wire and feel you want real silver.
But every time, something held you back:
“Jewelers are born, not made”
It seemed the craft only passes from master to apprentice, and no one takes an outsider.
“You need a workshop full of machines”
Without a separate room and expensive equipment, there seemed to be nothing to start with.
“I don't know where to start”
YouTube has thousands of fragments, but not one clear path from zero.
“It's too late”
Work, kids, a move, and it feels like the moment has passed.
And year after year goes by. You buy jewelry you “almost like.” The sketches stay in the notebook. And somewhere inside there's a quiet thought: what if I never even try?
Hundreds of people aged 18 to 60 write to us about this. And we know: none of these reasons stops you from taking the first step.

A workshop on his knee
Stanislav Volskyi once had to complete a commission for Brezhnev himself, with neither a workshop nor tools. He made the portrait literally on his knee, with a sharpened nail.
In those days, depicting high officials required special permission. Had the commission rejected the portrait, the consequences would have been serious. Refusing the job was not an option either.
The work was approved.
So if you're thinking “I don't have a workshop,” you're already better off than he once was. To start, you need the right first steps and someone to show them to you.

Jeweler-artist, enamellist, Honored Artist of Ukraine
- 45+
- years in jewelry making
- 20+
- years teaching at the Lviv National Academy of Arts
At the Academy he gets only two semesters out of five and a half years of study for jewelry making. So he gathered everything that matters most for beginners into his method and recorded it in short, clear video lessons: as if you were standing next to him in his workshop.
Catalog of the master's works →The Volskyi method: three stages from zero to your own jewelry
The secret isn't talent or expensive equipment. It's the right order.
- 1
Foundationthis is the mini-course
Safety, tools, metals, a workspace at home, the torch, the crucible, your first melt and your first ingot.
- 2
Core techniques
Soldering in different ways, rolling, blanks, a wedding band, stones and cuts, a bezel for a stone.
- 3
Jewelry
Rings with a stone and overlays, earrings, a pendant, sawing, engraving basics.
Most beginners give up because they jump straight to stage three from YouTube videos, ruin the metal and decide “it's not for me.” The mini-course gives you the whole first stage, so you stand on solid ground.
What you'll be able to do after the mini-course

The moment silver turns liquid
You'll light the torch, watch the metal in the crucible turn liquid and glow, and pour your first ingot. It's not a finished piece yet. But it's your first silver, and you made it.
01Work safely: you'll know what to wear in the workshop and how to protect yourself.

02Choose your starter tools: you'll understand what you really need and what can wait.

03Understand metals: which fineness to choose, where to buy silver and what to practise on.

04Set up a workspace at home with the bare minimum, without machines or a separate workshop.

05Work with a torch: the types there are and how to adjust the flame.

06Prepare a crucible so the metal doesn't crack as you work.

07Melt silver and cast your first ingot.

08Cast a ring blank the old-timers' way, right at home, in a potato.

Who it's for
You've dreamed of it for years but never tried
The easiest way to finally start and find out whether it's for you.
You already make jewelry from beads, resin, wire or stones
Metal is the next level: your own settings, findings and shapes you can't find in shops.
You're a designer or an artist
You'll understand how metal behaves and speak the same language as jewelers.
You want to make a piece for someone you love
A ring for your daughter, a gift for your partner. This is the first step toward that dream.
Where this path leads
There's plenty of information about jewelry making online, but it's scattered in pieces: a lesson on soldering here, one on stones there, and no idea what comes after what. Chaos like that doesn't make anyone a jeweler.
Stages 2 and 3 of the Volskyi method make up the course “The Jeweler's Profession. Beginner.” It's a step-by-step program with practical assignments: from soldering and rolling to rings with a stone, earrings and a pendant. Along the way you'll make your first 6 pieces.
All lessons open right after payment, so you go at your own pace. The course also includes recorded reviews where Stanislav goes through other students' work in detail: what worked, where the mistake is and how to fix it. You learn from others' mistakes before you make your own.
Stage 3. Jewelry
Here's what students of this course create in just their second month
